Best Time For 3D/4D/5D/6D Imaging:

Best time to see your baby is 27-29 weeks. After 30 weeks, the bigger they get, the less we get. Multiple gestation 24-26 weeks.

Tips for getting the BEST Images:

We recommend drinking 80-100 ozs of water or clear non-caffeinated beverages daily, which is best for creating amniotic fluid in the baby’s sac.  Ample fluid space gives the best images possible. Caffeine will dehydrate you and will increase the cloudiness of the amniotic fluid.

Barriers to good images are:  loose skin, mom’s body composition, baby’s position, placenta position, etc…You may want to drink some cold apple or orange juice 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment to get baby moving.  It’s always easier to image a slightly moving baby than one that is in a bad position, sound asleep, and not moving.

Everyone wants great images, and that is what we are here for.  Sometimes moms don’t realize that you have to drink your physician’s daily recommendation of water consumption (typically half your body weight in ounces of water per day) to achieve great images. If you don’t, you will most likely not get good images. Also, Physicians recommend that you drink this water for proper lung development for your baby. This is very important. And there is nothing more frustrating to our sonographers when they know they could have gotten great images for a mother if only she had been drinking their water goal.  So please drink your water goal for your baby and for your images.

We recommend drinking 80-100 ozs of water or clear non-caffeinated beverages daily, starting 5 days prior to your appointment, which is best for creating amniotic fluid in the baby’s sac. Please do not eat a large meal before your appointment. We recommend a light snack prior.

Please do not schedule your ultrasound session the same day as your glucose testing.  Once baby crashes from the sugar, they sleep for a long time.  It makes it very difficult to get baby to move if they are not in position.

Please note: We recommend hydrating with the recommended amount of water 5 days prior to your appointment. There are no free bring backs for poor images as a result of mom not being properly hydrating prior to the appointment. We do not guarantee the full face at any week.  That is not the reality of ultrasound, especially if you have an anterior placenta.
